This clock was inspired by a small round top mantle clock of mine and the larger dual dial calendar clocks of the good ol days. To make the top I cut 3- 12” rings 1 1/2” wide out of 3/4” thick walnut. I cut them all in half and glued them up in a stack of 4. I cut 2 pieces 20 1/2×3 1/2 wide for the sides, cut a filler for the bottom of appropriate size and assembled the carcass shell. A remaining half round circle and a rail and 2- 1 1/2” styles made the door. Base is two rectangles with decorative profiles routered on them. The calendar clock movement and the day of the week movement are mounted on maple faced 1/4” plywood. The overall dimensions of the clock are 28 3/8” tall x 15 1/2” wide, at the base. The finish is min-wax walnut and lacquer. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking clock! The grain direction on the top is something I’ve always wondered about, but laminating multiple pieces together means you can make it strong like plywood. Thanks for showing that step!

The “glass” in the door is plexi-glass and I cut the arch in it with a band saw.
The calendar clock dial is punched because it was from an antique calendar clock.
Both movements are quartz and from ebay.
Thanks guys
