Made this wedding card/keepsake box for my son’s upcoming wedding. I had some really nice dark leopard wood that I was wanting to use in a project, and it didn’t disappoint. That and the curly maple of course, made this thing really pretty. I used a stop hinge for the lid, but my wife recommended using leather straps as well. I hate it when she is right about such things, cause it adds a nice touch :)

Very nice!
I can’t tell, how is the lettering done on the front? Stencil, CNC or pyrography?

Great wood combo, nice clean lines/details, like how you obscured the way to open. Leopard wood is just awesome.

Did you use tacks to attach the leather strap?

Carl – I laser engraved it. The local library has a small epilog laser for free use if you know how to use it.

I used small screws to attached the straps. Never used them before so hopefully that method is ok

Great use of woods, and of course put together very nicely. It will be a memento keepsake heirloom. Well done Mark.

Thanks for sharing
