This cedar boot came from a small log that my friend brought back to Alberta after a visit with his family who live in Vancouver. Squaring the log off, I proceeded to cut a carving blank trying to incorporate as much of the character of the log as possible. One side of the boot shows a live edge and the other side of the boot shows the wood grain and inner colour. The heel had a branch protruding from it’s innards and the grain is quite dramatic as shown in pictures three and five.
It was easy to carve and a wipe-on finish did the job.
Enjoy!
The Bootman!

Very creative and well done, as usual, Roman. Always enjoy seeing your work.
