This was quite a process for me as I had never built a Chessboard or Chessboard Box before. With that in mind in started off in sketchup and worked my way from there. Starting with a raw live edge walnut slab and some hickory and moving forward. The CNC was a true life saver on this project made making and cutting out the sides of the box and the dividers that are in the drawers much more precise and repeatable. Let me know what you guys think and if you like the outcome and if you want to check out the entire build with more detail than I can give here check out the article and video.

WOW!!!! I see chess boards pretty often. 2 sided drawers with chess piece storage, not so much.

Great work. Home run, with runners on base, on the first trip to the plate, looks like to me.

Thanks for posting.

Really an extraordinary piece. Thanks for posting. I would highly recommend that Lumberjockers review your website and photos of the entire build. Your photography and explanations as you work through the project are top notch. https://jpaynewoodworking.com/making-a-custom-chess-board-box/
