Project Information

This is my second cabinet build. This time, I wanted to make a whiskey cabinet worthy of housing the finest spirits. I had a piece of ash crotch that had been sitting in my shop for over a year, and was mostly quartersawn. The inspiration hit me to use it for a solid panel book-matched door, and the rest is history. This cabinet is my first build using my own design.

I hit an upload limit at 5mb, but there are more photos in the gallery on my website if you'd like to check those out.

Thanks for looking guys! Now, back to making sawdust…

Really great bookmatch there, really stands out against the darker wood surround.

Ok, so you can pick wood slices with the best of them, design with the best of them, and execute with the best of them. So are you thinking you're gonna be any good at this woodworking thing?

Nice cabinet. All that is missing is a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle, and a couple of shot glasses to finish that off.

Thanks for posting.

That door is simply amazing. You built a nice cabinet around it too.

Thank you all so much for your kind words! and SteveN, you've always got something nice to say! I might keep going, been considering getting into designing wood items… Still tip-toe-ing (?) around that rabbit hole…. who knows…
