Small keepsake box. Body in European walnut, the inside of which is painted with casein paint, bottom lined with handmade marbled paper. The lid is cherry, treated with shou sugi ban technique (woodburning). The pull is made of white maple.

That’s a nice looking box. Good mix of woods and finishing techniques.

All the details are very well done and adds to the great quality of the build.
I especially like the subtle curves of the handle and the contrast between it and the lid.
Thanks for sharing.

A lot of very nice details go to make for a different kind of box, but an enjoyable one. Please show more of the casein painted bottom. That is an attention grabber.
Thanks for posting.
Ahhh I missed the link above. Wondering if a person could get a nice enough color copy: and use it as a boxes bottom?

A very special keepsake box. Beautifully crafted, I a’specially liked the burning effect on the top. I haven’t seen that before, it certainly added a different dimension to the beauty of the box. Thanks for sharing your talent and skill. Joe
