the first bowl is the largest that I have done so far. It is made of walnut. I didn’t know it at the thyme but one is not supposed to go straight down a log when turning, got to remove the pith. The walls are not as thin as I would like but it was one of my first ones and me wifey loves it. THe second is a little bowl 6” across by about and inch and a half deep. it is made of poppler which I wasn’t too keen on but I had it so I used it. This bowl will be given away to one of my masonic brothers at our xmass party next week. THe third bowl is from a maple blank that my wife purchaced for me last xmass that has been sitting around because I was afraid to ruin it. Guess it turned out ok. On the 4th pic I burned in the square and compass into the bottom of the bowl, stained it with english chestnut and put 6 coats of poly on it. Should be interesting to see if this gift gets fought over during the wihite elephant gift exchange. (not my intention but will be fun to watch.)
