This one I finish cutting last evening. I wanted to have this picture for my family room. I cut it as a tribute to what I think is the most beautiful wild animal in North America. The Elk. There in nothing much more thrilling than to be out in the woods and hear one of these beasts bugle. To see one is even better.

Really beautiful work. Where did you find the pattern? And what kind of wood is that? It’s hard to tell from the picture. It would have to be awfully tight grain with all those little pieces just asking to be cracked off.

Thanks,

The pattern is from Mike Williams (https://www.etsy.com/shop/MikeWilliamsDesigns)
I cut it in 1/4” Baltic Birch. If I ever do it again, I would like to do it in a hard wood.
