I was too nervous to officially join the last BBQ swap, but wanted to follow along and see if I could build something in the same time frame. So with some scraps laying around, I built this pizza peel.
I pretty much followed Woodshaver Tony’s build for his pizza peels.
I used a combination of cherry and walnut for the main body and added some white oak for the handles. The plugs on the handle are walnut. It ended up being a hair under 1/2” thick. My favorite feature of the peel is the two book matched pieces of cherry on each end. Just one of those times where something actually works out right.
My 4 yr old loves to use this to serve himself a single slice or to the pick up whole pizzas from the oven, so I’d consider it a success. Thanks to Tony for the how to video he posted.
Any comments or questions are welcome. Thanks for looking.

That’s a gorgeous Pizza Peel Steve! It DEFINITELY would have been welcome in the BBQ swap :-)

This is an excellent project. What did you do to the front edge so that the peel will slip under the Pizza?
