Hello to everyone. As a new member here, I thought I should post the first creation of my new venture in box making. I am a cabinet maker by education and trade, and had never previously thought I would come to decide to specialize in boxes. I was somewhat reluctant to begin as I thought out the plan for this box; the level of precision required was somewhat daunting, joinery has to be exact, and visions of dangerous maneuvers flashed through my skull as I contemplated cutting small parts. Fast forward several months, and I have found a niche I am quite comfortable in; to which I can devote my passion for detail; and aim for perfection.

I have realized that the BOX is fundamental to all construction, to which, we either add or take away from, so stay tuned for further posts.

Cheers.

let me be the first to welcome you to LJ’s and thnks for posting such a fine looking box – really interesting feet, any reason for that design or is that just what happened

Thank you kindly, Sir, for the welcome. The design of the feet was intentional, as the many details of this box are so linear I thought it required some subtle curves, hence the slight curve on the pull and curving angles of the feet.

Thanks for asking, cheers!
