Unknown woods. When I began with the blank, it was an experiment to see if I could get away with making a 70 degree cut. It worked. A little less show-offy than the previous two, I admit. But, I like it. It’s a Slimline. The hardest part, really (aside from the bending over the table saw), was deciding which end would be the top and which the bottom. I think I chose wisely.

I like it too and you did choose wisely. Reminds me of my favorite Minimalist artist Frank Stella, very 1960s vibe with this pen. Are those round dots wood or some other material? They almost look like mother of pearl or metal. Great job, keep choosing wisely.

Seriously Mark you have developed a trademark with your new pen design. I’ve never seen anything as nice as your pens they are so attractive. I can’t wait to see more! Nice work! Now get back to work!

Yes, Lew. The main cut is the 70. I cut that by hand, with my dovetail saw and a Gerry-rigged mitre box. The cuts at the ends are 60, on the table saw.
