My mother has a fantastic base at her house and a really crappy Veneer table top. Her birthday is just around the corner so I decided to make her one.

Great looking top. What did you finish it with?

Is it just me, or are there going to be some pretty serious movement issues/cracks with the end pieces going across the grain like that?

(It looks really great by the way!)

It shouldn’t all the grains going the opposite direction are dado cut in and basically floating
