Four years ago I posted a project where I restored & converted 4 Park Benches, with cast iron legs & arm rests, into much more comfortable Arm Chairs… In this project I restored & converted my wife’s Child size Park Bench, that she used for potted plants, into an Arm Chair. The bench originally had just 2 narrow slats across the back that looked rather cheap. Like the full size benches, I changed the back slats to a wider / shorter board with 4 mounting bolts that eliminates “racking” of the chair. The image I routed into the back is the Nazca Hummingbird. The wood is oak finished with General Finishes Outdoor Oil.

Really like this. I have one of the benches with the cast iron legs that is no longer safe to sit on. I this gives me a good idea of how I would like to restore it. Very nice looking and well done.
