Wall Clamp Rack

For years I have had a rolling clamp rack designed after a New Yankee Workshop plan. It worked fine, but as my shop got crowded it became difficult to get to my clamps. I was looking through A Fine Woodworking magazine (you can look up the edition on there web site) and came across a wall mounted clamp rack. Decided to build it, and boy am I glad I did. My clamps are easy to get to and easy to put back. Each section is mounted on a French Cleat so I can change it when needed. Thanks For Looking, Joe

how’d it get difficult to get to a rolling cart?
I have a rolling cart, and am thinking of adding another.

Wall space iand floor space are at a premium, so with the cart, I can roll it somewhere out of the way.

That’s great. I wish I had that much free wall space left for something that nice.

Thanks for taking the time to post comments. One of my first shop projects was to make a rolling clamp stand. As the years went by and tools were added, the isles got narrow, until the stand was pined in a corner & difficult to turn for access. Since my assembly table was close to the wall I decided to put the clamps there. Great decision for my shop. Now it’s so easy to grab a clamp or six, use them and put them back in place, just as it was with the clamp stand when I had more floor space. To bad you guys don’t live close, I’d gladly give you a great clamp stand. Neighborhood Yard Sale coming up next month so I’ll sell it for what I can. Thanks again, Joe

Amen brothers…when I built my shop, I thought it huge. Now I keep walking into stuff, and I might have room to hang another screw driver somewhere if I can rearrange the pegboards…(again)

Really nice clamp rack set up Joe! Beautifully organized…I really like setting up my tools for easy access. I built a clamp rack some years ago, nowhere near as nice as yours, but extremely convenient. That was the last of the wall space!

If you ever decide you have too many clamps, (Not that such a situation could actually exist) l’d be glad to take them off your hands!
Don’t know where I’ll put them though. Perhaps there’s room in my wife’s underwear drawer. ; )
