I made this cat tower for my sister’s birthday. Just humble construction lumber and scrap plywood/carpet, but it has some fancy joinery (hand-chopped mortise and tenon for the support posts, drawbored bridle joint to attach the base, and half lap for the base support). About 5.5’ tall. The hole in the first large platform leads to a canvas hammock, and the top has a cat bed.

Allen, how did you manage to get a cat for a sister? ;)

Looks good man! Way to pull out the joinery on a project that wouldn’t normally be associated with craftsmanship or skills for that matter.

Thanks Dave. She would probably be a happy cat, able to play on this thing.

Anything worth building is worth overbuilding, eh? Shame it’s for a cat, but what’s a brother to do? Nice work!

Nice Allen!! I once made plans to build a huge cat complex for my girlfriend (now wife). Glad I didn’t because all of our cats now are barn cats.
