This is the same stick as my first walking stick post, only that one had an unfortunate accident where it slid off the counter it was leaning on and shattered the head. I was able to salvage the claws and turn this new, more solid head on the lathe. Since the claws were made from padauk, I dyed the new cedar head with red alcohol dye and shellac. It looks kind of pinkish-purple in the pics, but it’s actually a very deep red. I made the dragon eye with a clear cabochon painted with Testor metallic model paints. There’s a instructional vid on youtube on how to do this. I lit up the eye with a pair of LED’s, one solid and one flickering, both independent of the other.

-- Leave out the fiction. The fact is this friction will only be worn by persistence. Leave out conditions. Courageous convictions will drag the dream into existence.
