My Second Chessboard ( actually a checkerboard)

Here’s my second game board. The guy I built it for wanted a checkerboard, but it’s still okay tocall this a chessboard, right? :) I made the box from Phillipine Mahogany and the board is Phillipine mahogany and walnut. I used amber shellac on the whole thing and it really brought out the chatoyance of the wood. I mean, it’s beautiful. This pictures do not do it justice! All the checkers are Phillipine mahogany and I turned them myself on the lathe.

-- Leave out the fiction. The fact is this friction will only be worn by persistence. Leave out conditions. Courageous convictions will drag the dream into existence.

another beautiful board BUT are the pieces all the same color ?

No, one side is red, the other brown :)

OK – sorry, I should have looked a little closer, it shows in the second picture
