The first group of photos are of a figured Cherry and Maple keepsake box. This 2 ply box features a Curly Maple lid. To pop the curl on the lid a dye was applied and then sanded back. Finished in lacquer and lined in ivory velvet.
The second group of photos are of a figured Cherry and Walnut keepsake box. This 2 ply box features a Walnut lid with beautiful grain and a little curl. Finished in lacquer and lined in ruby red velvet.

Nice work on both boxes kdc. They both have beautiful grain to them. I know it sometimes takes me longer to choose the lumber than actually build the box. LOL.

Thanks Dave. It’s a hard decision that I suffer from too!

Nice wood matches, which gives them that great look.

How are you attaching the handles?

Thanks for posting.
