I made this out of red, yellow and purple heart with maple indexes. The yellow heart is splined into the side with a dowel jig I made, not for strength but for a little added appeal. This is going to go out to a younger maker in England to be added to a large chain of other rings made by other makers. I’m really excited to be a part of it mostly because I think it’s important to get the younger generation involved in making things (especially as shop classes are disappearing from school).

Hey Dan!

She’s turning rings and cutting those in half and gluing them. She’s only 14 and is super gung-ho about her lathe. It makes me so incredibly happy to see her generation take interest in this hobby.

So far she’s gotten a ton of them…so she’ll be busy!

Sorry…missed this the first read. Outer diameter is about 4 inches.
