Thuya Burl, it is. A Cuban Model, it is. Rhodium finish, they say.

Why am I home on a Wednesday, making a pen, you ask?

I broke my car, night before last. Popped a hole in the oil pan. It’s in the shop. It’s done. now. But, I was busy making a pen, when my mechanic called. Now, I’m busy doing this. I’ll go get it in a minute.

Oh. My eyes were being all goofy, when I went to assemble this pen. I couldn’t see the marks I put on the insides of the barrels, for lining up the figure. So, I had a genius attack. I took a picture.

Too clever by half, am I.

Thank you. And, I apologize.

They let artists drive on the West coast? Didn’t think Teslas had oil pans? Good looking pen anyways!

I could make a joke about artists driving in California, but I won’t.
I could make a joke about the missing P in your title, but I won’t.
I could make a joke about goofy eyes, but I won’t.
I could make a joke about the pattern that your thumbnail photos make, but I won’t.

Because this beautiful pen is no joking matter. I truly think that this is your most beautiful pen yet and if it does not sell to the first person who sees it I WILL make a joke about the poor taste of people in California.

Great job, keep up the good work.

Here in Amish country, hill hopping is an olympic sport. Duct tape and extra oil are trunk staples.

BTW, nice pen!

Another real nice pen, mark. That looks lie the transmission pan. What did you hit?

One time were coming back from Az towing our Saturn with the motorhome and I passed over a chunk of 6×6 laying in the center of the lane. When we stopped for the night at a Walmart. There was trail of oil behind us . The 6×6 caught the front edge of the transmission pan and peeled it back. Good thing we did not have to drive the car any more on the way home. I hammered the pan flat , put in a new filter, gasket and fluid and it was okay.

Cheers, Jim

One time my wife called me from the mall. She said her tire was flat. I threw my compressor in the back of my car and drove to the mall. I filled up the tire with air, only to hear a pretty loud hissing. I look and there is probably an 1/8” hole in the tire. I looked in the glove box looking for something to plug the hole with. Found a pen looked like it would work. I broke the tip off and shoced it in the hole and topped off the air. I switched cars with her and told her to follow me home. I wouldn’t suggest using that pen to plug your tranny pan though, way too nice. I used a bic.

Larry: A little like Olive or Teak. Except that, when I drilled it, it was very powdery, and I was afraid it wouldn’t hold up. It’s quite oily, innit? Thuya (I looked it up) is actually a conifer, looking very much like a Juniper. It’s not even a Hardwood. The genus includes the Arbor Vitae.

I couldn’t feel stupider about ”_en.” That’s not like me. I have a stick up my arse about spelling and grammar. That’s right. Real anal about it.

Hello Mark,

The pen: nice work very impressive.
Home on Wednesday: Makes a nice break in the week.
Hole in the oil Pan: So what did you hit?, not a nice Beagle I hope.
Eyes being goofy: May have something to do with invisible curbs?
Go get an eyesight test and dont be doing it again, especially with passangers in the car.
P-E-N spells pen, just in case those wordsmiths out there need to know.

Otherwise read here,

Will Rogers Quotes
Will Rogers
“When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.”
and again
The pen: nice work very impressive.
Also I see you have pulled a DT3 that is also worthy of comment.
