Tea Box for Christmas

Made/Gave this Tea Box to my Aunt for Christmas 2018 and my kids found a bunch of tea to fill it with. Unfortunately in the rush to finish it before Christmas, I failed to get any finished pictures. (DOH!).

Walnut case, spalted maple top and maple splines and dividers.

Walnut is from a tree the guys at work took down and I had milled.

Jealous of your milling skills! The surfaces and lines are so freaking clean – you’ve got serious chops!

Thank you. I seem to do just fine on these small projects. Give something bigger and all bets are off.

That spalt plays well off that Walnut. I liked the box form and then I hit the third pic. Gotta love interior dividers. It matters little how they are laid out.. Their presence says it is a finished box. Such a nice touch.

Thanks for posting. Congrats on your 3.

Great looking box, Congrats on your DT3.

How does the top stay in place?

These pics were pre hinge install. Don’t remember what kind, I think it was a stop hinge of some sort.
