Granddaughter Hope got this magic wand (Hermione Granger’s) from Harry Potter Worlld. Rather than hide it in its box, she asked me to make a display stand for it. The base is white pine, I think, and the supports are twigs from a sycamore tree next door. I sketched some twigs and leaves on the base, then carved a design. Hope and her Dad took it home, assembled it, and stained and varnished it. The wand itself is some kind of resin.
