Project Information

Bed side chest to match Dresser I built for my Granddaughter in an earlier post some time back. The Chest is made from solid Cherry I harvested a few years back for the banks of the Tennessee River lots where I live.
My Granddaughter Hannah chose the design and the color which is Min-wax English Chestnut.
The finish is 1st. a coat of lacquer sander sealer followed by multi coats of clear Satin Lacquer wet sanded with 500 grit sandpaper and a final top coat of clear satin Lacquer again.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice work! I saw your rocker a while back but didn't realize you were not far from me. Next time I go to Joe Wheeler State Park, I should look you up .

Beautiful display of your excellent craftsmanship, a truly fantastic creation.
The design of this is very interesting and unique, did you design or have plans? I like the way it makes the most use of all interior space with the shelf and the top draw with the cove molding front - most interesting.

Thank you all for your Gracious comments of which I am humbled as well as thankful LJ's are wonderful people.
Oldtool ask: The design of this is very interesting and unique, did you design or have plans? No I did not have a plan my Granddaughter showed me a picture of what she wanted I used the measurements I needed for he chest size and built it as I went, of course I had a goal in mind from the start. I often alter my plans as I built to achieve the functionality and eye appeal I want to achieve. I try to work with an open mind to making changes which is sometimes good and sometimes not so good.

Gorgeous craftsmanship! She receives a beautiful, functional heirloom and you receive a big smile and most likely a huge from a grateful granddaughter. Looks like you both win!
