We wanted to replace the plastic table that my wife was using for her sewing machine and include plenty of storage. The result is this sewing cabinet with 9 large drawers of various depths. Made from maple for the drawer fronts and edging the cabinet grade maple plywood used for top and base unit sides. Drawers sides are poplar. Padauk was used for accents on top edges and center drawer. Used General Finishes Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner and GF Candelite Oil Stain, then finished with 3 coats of GF Arm-R-Seal Urethane.

This photo shows the corner braces used for top and bottom of base units along with the maple edging on plywood

Used a Leigh dove tail jig for all drawer carcasses. Drawers are mounted via soft close slides. Installed slides to drawer sides first. Then with a base unit upside down and spacers for between drawers, mounted slides to base sides.

This is one of several jigs created on this project. This one was to locate drawer pulls.

That is a great sewing table. Lots of room for the work, too. Ten jumps over a plastic table!!
