This was a bit of cheating. I did the mockup in paper. Then 1/2” plywood…cutting out insets. Trial and error on compound mitre. Glued up frame the applied 1/8” oak compound cut to the outsides.. Top and bottom. Insides are unfaced plywood. Pole and base are standard craftsman construction.
