Project Information

We have a window sill that we put all our shampoo and stuff on in the bathroom but I'm thinking that it will succumb to rot at some point, I don't like to have all of these bottles that become wet when showering up there so I saw a carrier like this one on the web somewhere and thought it would be a nice addition to our bath. I used red oak because that is what I had on hand. We'll have to see how it holds up. It also has about 5 coats of spray lacquer on it so, not sure, but I think she'll hold up fine, if not, I'll make it again with white oak or cedar or something that will probably hold up better to the water that inevitably gets on this when we shower. Anyway, I'm going with this for now. I love the way it looks and, like I said, time will tell on whether it will be durable or not. Hope you guys like it…....:).

It's a great looking thing. I wish you luck on the humid environment…

Great job. Maybe a different type of varnish would help it hold up better. Maybe try what they use on boats - that should be waterproof enough for a bathtub. Thanks for posting.
