White oak bed with walnut headboard. Mortice and tenon joinery on the head and foot of the bed, stretchers are joined with lag bolts through an inset piece of Oak dowel in the stretcher, set so the grain is perpendicular to the screw.
Slats are cheap pine “common board” from Home Depot and the mid support is two pieces of poplar, joined with a half-lap (discovered I can cut these really easily with my radial arm saw).
Finished with natural danish oil.
