"Feeling Froggy?"

The idea for this carving came from way back in my school days in Alabama. If someone was talking trash, and fists were about to fly, they might ask if you were “feeling froggy? Then jump!” Meaning if you felt like starting something, then go ahead and do it! I would be afraid to start something with this frog! He looks like he’s been working out and he’s a bit bigger than the frogs I usually see. Thanks for looking!

Mighty fine carving of one Big Bull Frog, Excellent work Mike. I know several Pounders in North Al. went to school with quite a few of them in Russellville, Al., what part of Al. did you go to School.

What a small world! I was born in Russellville, but lived and went to school in Sheffield after the 4th grade. I am probably related in some way to all of the Pounders in Russellville. My father was Carl Pounders and my grandfather was P.R. Pounders, from Rockwood. I still have a couple of cousins in Russellville and a brother in Tuscumbia.
