some new colors in my bowls

I’ve been absent for quite a while because I had a project that required all my attention, more on that when it’s completed at it’s new home.
However, I did manage to mix some neat colors to try in my bowls. Sorry about not having any progress pictures but I guess the end result is what counts.
These 2 bowls are of particular interest to me because of their individual combinations of color and design and they may end up spending their life on the shelf with a few others that I can’t part with.

and this one is in the mail

thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments, they help me improve

Could you explain how you glue them up to get that U type pattern in your segment? Segmented turning is my next challenge to tackle. Thank you

Really beautiful and clever work.

You can’t “turn” a bowl and get these results
it’s just a matter of glueing up different colored lumber and cutting on a RingMaster. Go here youtube ringmaster lathe and look around – I spent 3 years modifying and creating to achieve this effect

Nice work on the bowls. I like the very pronounced differences between the rings. Looks like there are endless possibilities for you to experiment with.
