Wanted to get the trash and recycle bins behind closed doors as part of my never ending kitchen cabinet project, so made this one as the end cap of the L. Husband wanted to keep roughly the same size bins as before (13gallon) and it was impossible to source plastic ones that would fit the space and held that amount, so I made wooden bins. Maybe a bit janky, but they’ve been used for a year now and have held up well. Problem solving. I feel like that’s all I do in the shop.

Hmm, interesting you couldn’t find the premade ones. There are quite a few options, I got the RevaShelf ones but there were quite a few various size and configs on amazon. But as long as it works, right?

The rev a shelf ones were wayyyy smaller than our current cans were, and I definitely couldn’t find any a size that would fit 2 of them in a 19×23 inch space. We’ll see how these hold up in the long run. Been a few years now.
