This was my first attempt at a true woodworking workbench. Everything was saw mill lumber that was sized, cut and finished. The base is 2”x6” poplar with 4”x6” legs. The base shelf is wormy white oak. The end vise, leg vise, and center board are all black walnut, with hard maple as accents in the leg and end vise. The top is laminated hard maple and red oak 3” thick. The finish is tung oil. The top is not traditionally joined so I can take it apart if needed but I did try my own version of a keyed mortise and tenon in the base with purple heart.

Very nice workbench! The oak and maple look great together on the top. The icing on the cake is the leg vice, beautiful

Outstanding! There’s a lot there to like. How wide is that middle tool tray?

That is a nice bench. Hope it gets passed on to a family member after you are done with it.

Very nice , would also like to know more about the middle area as it is different from others. Very nice in every detail. One day hope to make my own also.

It put’s my bench to shame, I built one like the benches in the 100 year old furniture company’s were built.
Practical but useful, NICE JOB !
