I made this box as a gift for my nephew’s baptism. He is also my namesake (Ivan). I played here a little with rhombus shapes. Dimensions 29×22x13cm (DVD – fits inside). It’s made of mahogany and ash. I cut letters and dove on scrollsaw, date -pyrography. Sides were joined with 6mm dovels, bottom 4mm playwood, opening 6mm metal shaft and magnet. Finish two layers of non glossy spray laquer.

That skew messes with my brain. Well done.

What a thoughtful and well-done gift. The details are great and the wood selection really eye catching.

Math is definitely not my strong point … so rhombus equations are totally lost on me Ivan! What I do see though is one beautiful treasure for your namesake. Sweet!!

That’s a very nice box, I’m sure your nephew will make good use of it.

I guess making things that have 90º corners was too easy for you. :-)
