Picture framing jig and three frames

I’ve built many frame-making jigs over the years. A recent move broke my previous one, so based on a lot of YouTube research, I made a new one and three identical frames. I love it! I can make a frame in a couple of minutes now and getting the interior dimension correct is a cinch!

I just built a variation on this jig that I saw in FWW. It is without a doubt the best jig I’ve ever seen/used for picture frame making. Cut one end on the left leg and one end on the right and it yields perfect miters every time. A big bonus is being able to measure the inside of the rabbet as you cut, using a stop to ensure exact same lengths. Good job on yours.

I haven’t gotten to it yet, but that is my next frame sled. With the stops, and the way the frame parts fit to the fence it almost makes the cuts for you, and pretty well guarantees accuracy, given you know the inner dimensions of your frame.

Nice job. Enjoy it. The frames look nice.
