New home for the #45. Had to make a Box Joint jig to do this. Here’s a link to the Blog

Nice, Bill! Did you use the 45 to make the groove for the bottom of the box for the 45?

I will need a complete SketchUp model, dimensions, and cut list from you so I can make a box for my 45, or I can just send the 45 to you and let you make the box???

Seriously, I have some elm, chestnut, or QSWO that I will use to to make a box for the 45. There is something about a simple box joint that just seems right for a plane like this.

Nice work!!! Is that 45 from Mos?

I finally clicked on the thingy in eBay and ordered myself a 45 yesterday, so your post is timely for me.

Nicely done Bill. Still have one of these on my to-do list. I like the box joints a lot for this one!

ROFL… No Dave/Kenny. 1/4” Dado was chucked so I I spent the Extra 46 Seconds and laid in the groves.

I’m afraid Smitty and Kenny are right Bill. You’re going to need to start over.

My moulding plane box took an extra week because I had to order a 3/8” wide blade from LV for the thick bottom I wanted to put into it. You don’t seem to understand how the process works. ;-)

...next box. Hope of the next shop is to have the time to actually hand cut dovetails :-) The ones I’ve tryed so far are just too ugly for the light of day…

Sweet box. Now you will have a box joint jig too. DT’s are overrated. For a heavy duty box made to work, those corners on this box have several times the glue surface. Strong joints.

Good looking case, the 45 ‘ll be happy! What about the other 45’s you’ll be collecting? :-)
