We do some traveling in an RV and were looking for a place to sit as well as to store shoes after being out at the beach (there is always some sand no matter how much we tried to get them cleaned off). This is what we came up with – it’s in the back of the RV while traveling and then fits nicely between the front seats when we are at a set location. The base is made from poplar which I painted. The top is hickory finished with GF HighPerformance. I used some leftover wire shelving to add an extra “shelf” for shoes. Open design to allow airflow for shoes to dry. Thus far it has done a nice job of giving a place to sit to put shoes on rather than trying to balance by the door with our nearly 100 lb German Shepherd under foot. :) She also has a new dog dish holder. Base is aspen and top is hickory. My husband did the wood burning of the paw prints I sketched out.

Thanks everyone. I like being able to build items customized to our purpose. Looking around the RV alone there are many little projects that make life a bit easier.

Cool item BB1...

Great to hear that Teddee now has a place to sit, keep his feet dry and stomach fed… Even the bone shaped handles are that much more doggie friendly!

LittleBlackDuck – thank you. Hadn’t thought about the handle shape but I guess they do reflect a “bone shape” a bit! Teddee has been liking her raised dog bowl for water. She is a “gulper” so has a separate special food bowl that is supposed to slow her down a bit. :)

Have your say...
