Cherry Birdseye Maple File Cabinet

This is my first veneer project. I enjoyed assembling the vacuum press elements and cobbling together a pump.
The stiles and rails are American Cherry. The panels are Birdseye Maple veneer over ΒΌ MDF. I covered the inner sides of the panels with a lesser grade skin to prevent warping. The drawers are constructed of clear white pine.
The drawer pulls I found on line. I used the brass posts and made up some matching maple and cherry dowels.
It measures 17” wide by 26” deep and 28” high.
The finish is spar varnish.
Thank you for viewing.

whoa! Nice work for 1st veneer job. Love the look of Birdseye grain.

IMHO – Files full of moldy old paper don’t deserve such an elegant looking cabinet. If I had that cabinet, would be hiding my collection of old scotch, brandy, and cognac; next to the desk. :)

BTW – Where is the desk project worthy enough to stand next to that file cabinet? :-0)

Cheers!

That is probably the prettiest file cabnet I have ever seen. Great job!
