So, I ventured off and went on Alibaba and ordered some pen hardware from there. It was a big mistake. The quality is acceptable but not great and they didn’t arrive with any instructions. I went on PEI to print the instruction and managed to put it together after destroying the first set. Still not happy with the mechanism and will definitely let them know. The wood, ebony, came from Ebay (all 75 of them) and they are beautiful; some are pitch black and others have lighter grains.
Anyways, if you are interested in some ebony blanks, let me know and we can make a deal. I bid on the blanks twice and ended up with that many. The painting is done with acrylic and the copper is copper leves.
Thanks for looking and your feedback.

Another beautiful pen, I love your combination of colors and materials.
The plant in the background of your photos was one that my grandmother had in her garden in Kansas – it grew in a very neat little clump in a rock planter that my grandfather had made. After my grandmother died my mother brought the planter home to Ohio and that plant went crazy and took over three flower beds. Whole new plants would sprout from a single leaf or piece of stem making it nearly impossible to contain. You never know what might happen when you move a plant to a new climate.
Have a great week,
John

Thanks John. I think the plant is called Irish moss. It is not as aggressive down here in Arkansas probably because it gets too hot. However, as you mentioned, it can break off and grow even in cracks in concrete. It probably make a gorgeous lawn in a colder climate.
