My first chess set project is finished)
It took about 3 weeks to make the figures. The board was made by a local craftsman. Many shortcomings, but they give a certain charm)), I hope. Chess figures made of basswood. The black party is covered with borma wax, the white party is varathane honey maple. height up to 6 cm. In any case it was a rewarding experience.

That is really amazing! I’ll bet that set will sell for a lot of money (or it should), you did such a great job on the pieces.
Just wondering, is it for yourself or is it something you plan to sell?

I just noticed you have a shop…

I had to go to your ETSY shop to look at your carvings and got the answer to my question. I think you are giving that chess set away. I actually was guessing double.

Hello! You are right) Indeed, I am ready to sell this set and placed it in my shop. If not, he will delight me and my loved ones. Carving is a hobby that allows you to invest additional funds in tools and materials)

Two opposing armies ready for battle! Great job, I really like the design for the Rooks – makes me want to build a stone tower in my back yard.

Thanks for posting

Nicely done! I love your originality and detail to craftsmanship. The wax sets off all of the intricate detail of each piece. I can’t imagine working on such small figures. Great job!
