I made this mostly out of Western Red Cedar. I picked out some darker pieces for the sides to contrast with the frame and legs. The miter splines and brackets for the bottle cap catcher are Black Walnut, and the hinges are Red Oak. The decorations are some wrought iron stuff my wife and I picked up at a local bazaar. I sprayed those with clear matte lacquer. The cooler came with a drain plug on the side, but I moved it to the bottom and plugged the original spot. There was about an inch or inch and a half clearance between the sides of the box and the cooler so I added some extra insulation. Gave it three coats of spar varnish to protect it from the Texas weather. The adjustable feet are kinda ugly, but they work pretty well, and that’s the main thing. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

Now that is a cooler. The oak hinges will wear well, too. Beautiful job with the additions – I love it!
