Project Information
This is a Pickup Truck I made for my grandson.
I didn't do a build blog on this as time wasn't on my side and I didn't take too many photos of the build process.
My Sketchup plan for the Pickup Truck is available here.
Here are the few photos that I took:
1) Detail of steering wheel, dash and gear lever
2) Chassis glue up
3) Mounting the Engine
4) Radiator build
5) Headlamps:
Blank for the headlights which I chucked in my cordless drill and sanded against the sanding wheel to get to a 16mm dowel blank.
I tried something different for the headlamps than on my previous trucks to get a all wood look.
6) 2,5 mm dowels I made with my dowel jig to secure the roof. This truck is a bit smaller than my Dump Truck that I build and 3mm dowels would be too thick. As this is a toy that must be able to withstand some small boy play I reinforced all the joints with dowels.
Thanks for looking. As always your comments are most welcome.
