Walnut Bookcase 84” Tall 72” Wide 15.5” Deep. All face frame and doors are solid walnut. The shelves and sides are 3/4” A grade Walnut Plywood Special Order from Menards. This is the first of two of these I need to build. As large as it is it almost looks small in it’s final resting place. The second one goes on the other side of the fireplace. I also built the Walnut Fireplace Mantle. It’s 4” Thick Solid Walnut with the face engraved with a Deer Scene and Home Sweet Home. Ya the shop is messy now when I finish the second one I’ll clean it up. All the bowling balls in the one pic are there to prevent the cats from scratching on the wood, I have three cats two stay in the shop and one in the house. I rotate them every three days. Oh ya one stray cat in the garage. stays there and outside only. They don’t like the stray cat. I think their jealous because the stray gets to go outside.

Wow. I mean this as a compliment, but it looks like an antique heirloom piece.

My cats do not scratch anything in my house. I do have strategic placements of large boards that they are allowed to scratch. They are 2.5” thick and 10X48” I do agree though if the cats were scratching any of my heirloom pieces something would have to change. I had my CNC drill my shelf peg holes. It’s what CNC’s are great at, Repetitive tasks and the accuracy of my CNC is one ten thousands of an inch. .0001. I just put the sides on the CNC index them and let it go.

Thanks Tony, I use the same finish for almost everything. The finish is easy to work with and always comes out nice with my HVLP Sprayer. I use Woodwright 9930 E7 Catalyzed Varnish with a sheen of 35.

What a beautiful build! Absolutely perfect from top to bottom. Great job!
