Interesting box. Between the non square corners, and the wild grain it looks like it's moving. Does it have a bottom? In the open pic what is where the bottom should be it looks just like the counter top. The shape seems Egyptian to me, almost like the base of a pyramid. That Paduk on the front is a nice contrast, and the shape is interesting. Makes for a nice resting spot for the finger catch.

Fun to make?

Maestro, this is a great study in contrasting woods. I like your novel design and construction. The finish looks great. It reminds me of one I built a few years ago. . You might be interested in the carved ends and the inset front and back. The inset on the front of your box is eye-catching. Thanks for sharing your work with us.

That was my thought - the legs make it appear massive, still a great build and design
