Project Information

Custom ordered, pirate style sign for restaurant. Dimensions 3×0.5 m.
Base board was made of 23 mm firwood - three boards glued with biscuites. Top frame I glued and additionaly nailed with wide head nails - just to get that rustic pirate style. Also I burned all with small hand torch burner and put oak coloured coating.
18mm thick letters I cut from pine playwood, rough with jigsaw, finish cut on bandsaw. Letters were painted by black spray colour. I glued and stapled them to the base.
At the back I put four stripes of playwood, just to strenghten complete construction and to make separation from the future wall, in case of rain (water).
I left choice to customer to make holes to mount it on the wall somehow.

Hope their food's good maj', and they don't rob you blind… Neat job and they must have been happy with it…. as it doesn't seem like they made you walk the plank… even if you provided one..

I was going to make some witty pirate comments … but many got there before me … so I'll just say that's an awesome restaurant sign Ivan! It'll catch all patrons' eyes for sure before they eat their hearty fare!!
