I’m not sure if they are doing Barney, or somebody else?

Heck of a Chess set though.

Thanks for posting

This set is Saxons vs. Vikings, it is my third set. I read a book called Ivory Vikings and it inspired me to carve 96 chessmen. And make a portable tabletop carving bench.

Great chess set. What is next Romans vs Gauls? Vikings vs Franks? Cusaders vs. Mamluks? The historical possibilities are endless. Welcome to Lumberjocks, hope to see more of your carvings soon. Thanks for posting

I was thinking of Spartans vs. Immortals. Romans vs. Gauls would be good, too. I translated the Helvetian Campaign in high school. 1969.

That is funny. An old friend of mine who is a clay sculptor singles out the knights as unacceptable. I have a good time with the knights, selecting the right bend, looking for natural projections and markings. Using dragons for the Viking knights is an idea I used decades ago for a much different set.
