Another variation of earth pen incorporating feathers. The first one is in memory of one of my roosters who was attacked by an opossum and died a few days later. The 2nd one is a combination of rooster and dyed pheasant (from Hobby Lobby). Third one is all dyed pheasant feathers. The wood is tiger maple.

Hi Larry,
I don’t have a complete video on them but am in the process of making some. Most of these pens take 3-7 days instead of 2 hours to make. These three were experiments to see how they come out. Main thing is being able to place the feathers in the way they look natural instead of clumping out and that is somewhat tricky. However, I think I have a solution to do it and I will certainly post the video on the next one; now that I know what the heck I am doing.

Sorry for the loss of your rooster, Mahdee. Lovely tribute to him in that pen. I’m looking forward to see how you did it, as well.

Hi Candy,
Thanks. I’ll try and make one over the weekend and tape the process.
