A friend had a special request for his shadow box and this one really tried my abilities and patience. Now that it is complete, I’m glad I agreed to do it. The transition from the bottom shadow box to the flag case was the biggest challenge, but with a some trial and error I think I pulled it off pretty well. I had the engraving done at the base hobby shop, but had to stain it with a small brush to make it stand out once I stained the whole project. It is made of oak with a golden oak stain. The dimensions are about 41/2 ft. tall by 2 ft. wide and the flag is tilted back 45 degrees.
Edit: I just received the picture of the shadow box after the retirement.
