First segmented bowl. Curly maple and walnut. 73 pieces cut and glued together. Finish is wipe on poly thinned with 50% mineral spirits. 11 3/8” diameter x 5 1/4” tall.

Looks purity darn nice! I started the path towards segmented bowls after buying a blank for a 11” bowl, got to find a chart for all the angles as per # of pieces. 22.5 for 16 is all I know for sure so far!

I’ve always like the idea of stacking different wood grains on one another in a single piece. All the different modules put together create such a beautiful contrast. And it’s a great way to use up scrap bits of wood in your self storage unit hey!
