Uniquely beautiful Keith.
Does the seed holes make it more difficult to turn?

Peter….Its the velvety red fluff that's just under the surface that makes it a little difficult to turn once you get past that the seed pockets aren't so bad. On this one I glued a capping piece top and bottom to give you more solid ends.

I was at a show where Keim lumber was at, and saw the pods. I went away shaking my head saying WT heck????

I see I see said the blind guy. They should have had a turned specimen there. Every guy with a lathe would have been buying.

Nice job, it's definitely a conversation starter. Thanks for posting.

How big is a pod? I can't imagine that it's very big but it really does make for a very nice storage pot or vase. I think the holes are a little creepy though. I have that thing where people don't like the idea of many little holes on a something. It gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Nathan…..The pods are about 7in long and 2.5in in diameter, I made two vases out of one pod.

Good Work Keith.

Banksia is very beautiful. We have Banksia in Australia.
Beware of the BIG BAD BANKSIA MEN….It was a Classic Children's Story.

Regards,
Cliff.
