Welcome to LJ's!
Nice looking deck! Here in Florida they make us used ground anchors on all sides because of the hurricanes we have here. Will you be staining this deck?

Last deck I built was in NY. Put in 19 3' deep pilings to hold it up with brackets for 4×4's mounted to the underside so the posts could be changed.

Perhaps there was a permitting issue for `permanent structures' that footings would have run into? You did pull a permit did you not?

Must be on stable ground. Where is you very nice deck?

Great looking deck. I notice that you basically cut a big ass rabbet on your 4×4 posts to attach them. The few decks I have built I attached the post to the inside of the frame with carriage bolts. Do you have any issues with structural strength going the route you went? I can't imgaine you do if you are doing it that way. Just thought I would ask.

Again, it looks great!

Great-looking deck! I have been looking to build a similar layout just behind our storage shed but it seems like a lot of work. I guess 12 hours isn't that bad if I could get a kind soul to lend me a helping hand!
