Oval walnut-cherry platter, dimensions 62×32.5cm, 20mm thick. Serving space 42×29cm. I made template first, draw shape on board, than cut rough shape on bandsaw. Final shape on router table with copy router bit. I made edge/top, 10mm wide, 3mm deep groove with router, with another template. Bottom edge was also rounded on router table with rounded bit to grab easier. Finish – food friendly wood oil.
In our restaurants became more and more popular to serve food directly on wooden platers (meat, fish, delicatessen, vegetables,...)

Really beautiful Ivan, I love the oval shape, and the choice of wood is excellent.

Looks good Ivan. That Walnut is a talkative piece of wood. I have to say I liked the Fish shaped ones better though, those were killer.

Thanks for posting.

Nice work. I do see these more and more in restaurants lately. Maybe you will get a large order for these.

Very nice design Ivan. My mom used one similar to this to paddle my bottom when I was a bad boy. LOL!
